Public safety alert: This child car seat has passed the regulatory tests required by ECE R129/i-Size to be sold as suitable for children from 40cm to 125cm, which is from birth to six years old. But in our own tests, which are conducted at higher speeds and forces than the standard requires, this seat scores poorly in our frontal-impact tests with a Q6 dummy, which represents a six-year-old child. During the crash test, the seat’s support leg retracted, which meant it lost a critical part of its connection with the vehicle floor, allowing excessive movement of the seat and child during impact. When the seat was crash-tested in the reclined position, the same thing happened, and the harness buckle detached at ... joint_program round inferred from first-review month.
